 My dear sweet Caden,

I love you so much and love you more every day. You had a very busy week this week. You had a soccer game every night, except one night you had to track meet, and then this weekend you had a soccer tournament. It’s a lot to do. And I know you get a little tired of all of it, but you did have Great games this week.

You and your family came to Florida this winter as always, but you only spent a few days. It was very quick. The one day we went up in rented glass, bottom, kayaks, and kayak with the manatees. So that was fun.

We have a newsletter from our community and you were reading it and wanted to know what time it was, so I told you the time and you said oh good shuffleboard starts in a few minutes can we go? You had a great time reading that calendar to see what all we could do. It cracked me up. We didn’t really have much time to do anything except hang out and go to the pool and drive the golf cart which you absolutely love.

 My sweet Caden

I can’t believe you’re almost a teenager. You sure have grown fast. I thought it was fast when my own kids grew up, but it’s even faster when I watch my grandkids. You guys were just here in Florida to visit us. It was a short trip because no one had the time. But we sure did still enjoy it.when you first got here you sat down on the couch., And said Grammy come sit by me, and you just hugged me. Talk about melting my heart.

I saw your book bag on the floor Pairs of sunglasses beside and I said boy who brought all the sunglasses, and you said your mom told me to bring sunglasses! Too funny. And probably within the first 30 minutes you told me you can’t wait to drive. One of our neighbors came over to visit everybody and within two minutes you even told him you can’t wait to drive.

We went out to a restaurant and they had clause napkins, and I was beside you and I took yours and put it on your lap and probably 10 minutes later you looked down and said who put this here!

We have a little booklet that our community puts out and it has a calendar of everything going on during the day. You were reading it and at one point said what time is it and we told you, and you said in 15 minutes we can go play shuffleboard with everyone.

I sure love you so much, sweetheart, and I can’t Wait to see what God has planned for you.

 My sweet Caden,

The whole family went to West Virginia last weekend, and you were definitely not a person who likes to leave home. Your daddy was the same way, when we went anywhere, he would always say “I just wanna go home“ and you are the same way. When we were down there, you said something about you didn’t really wanna be there. So I told you you were the same as your daddy and you said “my dad is a hard worker“. Not sure how many 12-year-olds realize their dad is a hard worker. But it cracked me up that you said that. I sure love you, Caden

 My dear sweet Caden,

I can’t believe you’re in seventh grade this year. You’re growing up so fast and you are such a little sweetheart. This past summer you talked to your parents into letting you get a dirtbike. You have had a blast riding that. There is a path through the woods From your house to my house And you have rode your bike down here With your family several times this summer. One day you actually wrote down all by yourself, came and sat on the couch to visit with me for probably 15 minutes and then said well I’m gonna head back now. It just made my heart so happy.

 My sweet caden!

You have a school email and I will send you notes of encouragement or love quite often and of course I get back to word responses, which kind of cracks me up you used to be quite a little talker to me. Maybe you just don’t like to write it. I sure do love you to pieces.

Your family, uncle, Bryan, and aunt Sommer and Bryce and Bowen and Papa and I all went on a family cruise. It was only a quick three nighter cruise. It was more about the ship being a playground and not the destination. Everybody talked me into going down a dry slide and it was like four stories high. When I got to the bottom, Bowen was there to help me off the slide and you were there to take my mat back for me. I sure am a lucky Grami 💖

 My dear Caden,

On Christmas Eve you and your family came down to the house and you said Grammy what are we having for dinner? And your mama said we have a ton of leftovers at the house we didn’t come for dinner. And Keira says then why did we come? You guys are too funny I do love to cook for you guys though and I love to see you. You are the best.

You really do love sixth grade. I am so happy for you. I think I wrote before that you were learning to play the trombone and you were showing me some of the things they taught you. I can’t wait for your concert. You are such a kind, loving young boy and I love you to pieces.

 My dear Caden,

I think you were going through a growth spurt, you seem to be getting so tall.

You guys have a new puppy, Boo, She is a cutie and she sure does love you and Kiera. Papa and I had to put our dog Lucy down a few weeks ago, we were so sad. You and your daddy stopped on your way home from soccer that night and you gave me the biggest hug ever.

You are doing very well in soccer. I love to watch you run, you are fast.

The other night, Kiera, had cheerleading practice and you didn’t want to go so you came here and we were going for a walk. That is not your favorite thing to do, but you went with us and you talked the whole time. It was so nice to hear all your stories about school and your friends.
